What “a song in 528 Hz” actually means

A song’s tuning is the A4 reference its notes align to. Nearly all modern music aligns to A4 = 440 Hz, the standard since ISO 16 (1955); 432 Hz — often called Verdi tuning — sits about 32 cents lower, where a cent is 1/100 of a semitone. What frequency means in music unpacks the concept in detail.
