This Privacy Policy explains how HZ Detect collects, uses, and protects information when you use hzdetect.com and the HZ Detect mobile app.

Information We Collect

We may collect limited technical data required to operate and secure the service, such as device/browser type, app version, and basic diagnostics.

If you grant microphone permission, audio input is used in real time for frequency detection features. We do not sell your personal data.

How We Use Information

We use information to provide the detector experience, improve reliability, prevent abuse, and maintain service quality.

Third-Party Services

Some features may rely on third-party services (for example, music recognition, app distribution, hosting, and analytics tools). Those providers may process data under their own terms and privacy policies.

Advertising and Cookies

hzdetect.com displays ads served by Google AdSense. Google and its partners may use cookies and similar technologies to serve and measure ads, including personalized ads where permitted. Visitors in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, and Switzerland are shown a consent message before advertising cookies are used, and can change their choice at any time.

The HZ Detect mobile apps display ads served by Google AdMob, which may use your device's advertising identifier to serve and measure ads. On iOS, the app asks for App Tracking Transparency permission first; declining it results in non-personalized ads. On Android you can reset or delete your advertising ID in system settings. Users in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, and Switzerland are shown a consent choice before personalized ads are served.

Microphone audio is processed in real time on your device for frequency detection. Raw audio is never uploaded to our servers or used for advertising. For song identification, a short irreversible audio fingerprint (not a recording) is sent to Apple's Shazam service and processed under Apple's privacy terms.

In-App Purchases

Optional upgrades (such as HZ Detect Pro) are billed entirely by Apple's App Store or Google Play. We never receive or store your payment details. Purchase entitlements are kept on your device and with your store account, and can be restored on a new device with the "Restore purchase" option.

Data Retention

We retain data only as long as needed for legitimate operational, legal, and security purposes.

Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have rights regarding your personal information, including access, correction, deletion, and objection to certain processing.
