Detection & accuracy
How does hzdetect work?

It listens to the music, samples the notes it identifies, and matches them against tuning tables to determine the reference frequency (A4) the song was tuned to. All audio is analyzed in real time on your device and never uploaded.

Does hzdetect detect Solfeggio tunings?

Yes. The detector can measure any tuning, including all Solfeggio frequency targets such as 528 Hz, 396 Hz, and 963 Hz.

Can I trust "432 Hz" uploads on streaming platforms?

No. Uploads are often mislabeled and platforms do not validate tuning claims. Detect first, then retune your own music for guaranteed accuracy.

Why do some songs show 'Uncertain' in the desktop app?

It means the song didn't contain enough pitched, coherent material to measure a tuning confidently — common for ambient, spoken-word, or percussion-heavy tracks. HZ Detect automatically re-analyzes with a longer listen before settling on Uncertain, and never guesses.

Yes — the HZ Detect desktop app for Mac and Windows retunes your own files to 432 Hz, 528 Hz, or any Solfeggio frequency, using each song's measured tuning for exact results. For retuning in the browser, our web tools like songretuner.com have you covered.

Is hzdetect free?

Yes. The web detector, browser extension, iOS and Android apps, and full library analysis in the desktop app are all free. Retuning songs in the desktop app uses conversion credits — new accounts get 5 free conversions, and packs start at $9.99.

What does a conversion credit cost?

One credit retunes one song. Packs: 25 for $9.99, 100 for $24.99, 500 for $59.99, or unlimited conversions for life at $99.99. Credits never expire and follow your account across devices.

Privacy
Does my music get uploaded when I analyze it?

No. Detection and retuning run entirely on your device — in the browser, on your phone, or on your computer. Your audio never leaves your machine.

The apps
What does the browser extension do?

The extension detects tuning while music plays in-browser and can also listen to desktop audio from apps like Spotify, Apple Music, and Pandora.

Can the mobile app identify the song it hears?

Yes. The iOS and Android apps identify the song while detecting its tuning, then offer a link to hear the same song retuned to 432 Hz or 528 Hz.
